Sue Tenerowicz of Hudson, NY shared her grandmother, Bessie Butt’s, photo albums with the Prison Public Memory Project. The first 20 or so pages (before those depicting Boonesville where she was born), of the album entitled “Will you take a summer time trip with me to the New York State Training Schol for Girls, Hudson, NY” are photographs with handwritten captions of the Girls Training School where Bessie Butts and her husband worked in the early 1900s, as a matron and head of maintenance respectively.
Below this album is a short video narrated by Sue Tenerowicz perusing her grandmother’s photo albums in her home, from an oral history interview conducted by Alison Cornyn in Hudson on July 27, 2012.
